For Kimatica Studio’s immersive ritual performance, Transcendence, Jose Macabra crafted a visceral sound design that functions as both a sonic landscape and a ceremonial guide. Drawing from electroacoustic composition, noise textures, and psychoacoustic techniques, his work underscored the piece’s exploration of altered states, identity dissolution, and transformation. By utilising a blend of processed voice, deep resonance, industrial atmospheres, and spatial sound, the sound score was performed live as an integral part of the audience’s sensory and emotional journey, adding ear candy to Kimatica’s visual and choreographic language with intensity and ritualistic power.
