The seventh angel, he raised his hand
And not a word, not a word did he say
And all the dead walking, throughout the land
Whispering, Whispering, it was judgment day

Suspended in time and space, a mega-city of 9 million human-beings converge on the edge of a new age.

This project is a collaborative work of academic investigation, photography and sound design. It was undertaken in September 2019 – March 2020 by Jose Macabra, Yis Kid and Lupus.

A systematic process was followed in which areas of interest were highlighted for their polarising economic, social and cultural make-up.

Research on the shifting landscape in these regions was undertaken via the use of academic publications, online journalism, newspaper articles and interviews.

Each of the locations were photographed from the view-point of a passerby, the proverbial fly on the wall. Sonification of the imagery was achieved by capturing organic sounds via the use of microphones at each of the locations throughout the city.

The aim of this work was to present a moving piece of photography & sound art in which polarities & similarities, shifting moods & textures and hypocrisies & beliefs could all be perceived through the lens of the eye of the beholder.

“London Is Dead” is a journey into the realms of London Life these days. Mainly composed using field recordings, processed vocals and processed acoustic instruments. This 60 minutes piece will take you in to a full cycle of life and death. Most of the ideas to compile this release came together while taking part in a collaboration with Vj London and Disenters’ Gallery called London Is Dead. Turn the light off, lay down somewhere comfortable, light up your smoke and press play.
Thank you very much to everyone around me that has been there for me. You are far too many to name on here though.
Enjoy the ride.

Born Prequel is a compilation where each track extends from its predecessor telescopically. Each musician listened to the previous track and used its ending as a beginning for their piece.

This results in an epic sonic journey that unfurls organically seamlessly connecting between musicians who have never met.

Hypnotically weaving vocal techniques with electronics, traditional instruments with intricate sonic textures.

This compilation of previously unreleased music gives a glimpse of contemporary music from Indonesia and the UK.
